12-Month Contract - Dublin City Centre - Hybrid Role

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will join an existing team to support the management and optimisation of clients’ database environments.

What is involved:

• Manage and maintain on-prem SQL Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and backups.
• Work with supporting technologies such as storage, Active Directory, Always On, and Failover Clustering.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and SQL scripting.
• Handle incident, problem, and event management to minimise downtime and ensure fast resolution.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and produce clear documentation.
• Optimise database performance using monitoring tools and industry best practices.
• Contribute to the design, setup, and configuration of database environments across online, batch, and reporting workloads.

What you need:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an on-prem Microsoft SQL Server DBA.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration, HA/DR, and virtualisation (VMWare/Hyper-V).
• Experience with Azure SQL Database & Azure data services
• Solid experience with automation scripting and performance tuning
• Familiar with Microsoft IDE’s, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps/GIT
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex issues efficiently.
• Ability to work in a service-oriented environment with SLAs, prioritisation, and customer service desk interactions.
